Blessings to you with the Happy New Year Wish below, which I received a couple of days ago from Ms. Yona Shem-Tov, Executive Director of Encounter (https://mailchi.mp/encounterprograms/to-guide-us-all-in-the-new-year-ganbircfbu?e=be4a280ec1)
|“This ancient and timeless wisdom guides me in this work, and as we approach 5781, I want to share it with you,” says Ms. Shem-Tov:|
What a yeasty time. The Abraham Accords is a start. Never mind that “Israel made ‘peace’ with two Arab states, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, whose combined citizenries are smaller than the Gaza Strip.”
President Trump has succeeded in informing the world what I’ve been saying for years: “Enemies don’t surround Israel all around them.” If you catch a Palestinian anywhere in the Middle East, many will say that they don’t hate the Jews, contrary to what most Americans believe. Just about all Palestinians disdain the ‘Neo-Party of the Pharisees,’ the ruling political party in Modern Israel; frankly, so do I, together with 46 percent of all Jews worldwide.
Biblically, the term ‘Israel’ is more spiritual than geographical:
Spiritual Zion, ‘Jerusalem,’ the City of God, the Heart of human consciousness, stands central.
Earthly Zion, ‘Jerusalem,’ the City of David, is where God commands the Israelites to become the Light Among Nations.
For millennia, the ‘Land of Israel’ is spiritually viewed by religious Jews and Christians as synonymous with the Spiritual Kingdom of God.” “It is not until the beginning of the 20th century that the Spiritual Land of Israel is reinvented and molded as a geo-national, earthly term” (*Chapter 3: A Shared Identity; Sub-Chapter 3.14: The Boundaries of Israel; Page 84-86; Kindle Location 1559-1614).
Zion, the Spiritual Kingdom of God, is the Promised Land for EVERYONE; a land without borders; for ALL the descendants of the biblical Abraham, the “Father of a Multitude of Nations,” not just of one tribe but for all tribes, of all people, from all nations (Genesis 17: 1-6, 20; Matthew 21: 43; 25: 32; Romans 11: 17; Galatians 3: 29; 6: 14-16 Good News Translation GNT).
The Region of my birth is home. Inside my soul and within all of my being, I am attached to the splendor of its many colors, their tints and hues, and ALL my people. I understand intuitively why neither the Palestinians nor the Israelis will ever leave. (*Prologue: Let’s Get Radical – Be Kind; Sub-title: Zion – A Heaven on Earth; Page 16; Kindle Locations 130-140).
With Every Good Wish to You, I am
