I can’t literally translate this into English but everyone who speaks and understands Dutch knows the intuitive meaning of: “De mens is eerder bijgelovig dan gelovig.” One translation is: “Humankind is more superstitious than religious,” but that doesn’t cut it. It’s too shallow. Let me throw in my own 2 cents worth with: “Many people prefer ‘make believe’ rather than ‘true’ beliefs,” which begs the question, “what is truth?” Of course, if we all rely on one ‘truth;’ worse, an ‘absolute truth’, we’d lose our humanity. We become robotic humanoids, puppets of those who pull the strings.

Are some Fundamentalists human or puppets? In ‘The Day Christian Fundamentalism Was Born,’ published in New York Times on 25 May 2019, Matthew Avery Sutton, Professor of History at Washington State University and author of ‘American Apocalypse: A History of Modern Evangelicalism,’ has encapsulated the essence and unearthed the core of Evangelicalism.

My book, ‘Christian Zionism … Enraptured Around a Golden Calf’ depicts the more extreme Fundamental Christians, also known as ‘Evangelicals,’ as mindless and senseless ‘chickens with their heads cut off’ (Deuteronomy 32: 6), deeply entranced in their dogmas (traumas), dancing around a Golden Calf (Deuteronomy 32: 21), and denying God’s own words foretelling “when the end will come,” voiced by Jesus Christ Himself, believed by most Christians as God in the flesh.

When will Jesus return, when will the end come?

Let me quote Jesus in his own words: … And [when] this Good News about the [Spiritual] Kingdom [of God] will be preached through all the world for a witness to all people; … then the end will come (Matthew 24:14 Good News Translation GNT) (Page xii; Kindle Locations 56).

Will Christ come soon?

NOT, if Evangelicals denigrate the 1.8 billion Muslims as enemies!

NOT, if Christians mindlessly aid and abet the Israeli modus operandi to steal, kill and destroy (John 10: 10) while piously waving the Banner of Holy Goodness!

NOT, if Christians just talk the walk.

Jesus Christ wants Christians to BE mindfully Christian, not mindless sheep following and idolizing other mindless sheep.

Has Jesus ever mentioned Modern Israel as a sign for his Second Coming?

No!

Has Jesus ever rejected Samaritans? Muslims? No! (Page xi; Kindle Locations 48-54).

So, when the Messiah comes, who will He recognize as the oppressed? Who will Jesus liberate from whom? Israel, the Goliath, with invincible fire power? Or, Palestine, the David with only stones and fireworks held together with spit and bubblegum? From one side of its mouth, Israel shouts: “The Palestinians are the thorns in our side. They persecute, intimidate, and torment all of God’s Chosen (as though the Jews are the only of God’s Chosen).” From the other side of their mouth, Israel steals, kills, and destroys.

Simultaneously, Israel feigns victimhood and, as angels of light, blinds its Christian ‘puppets’ (Page 107; Kindle Locations 2025-2030); with a number of Evangelicals, latching faithfully onto the Neo-party of the Pharisees, clasping on willingly and blindly; line, hook and sinker. Many Evangelicals muddy up the Promised Land with Modern Israel. Christian Zionists confuse Biblical Zionism with Pagan-Zionism, their Golden Calf. (Page x; Kindle Locations 22-24).

So often, we navigate the highways of life, thinking we’re on the right track, only to discover we’re about to hit a brick wall (Page xii; Kindle Locations 67-68). It’s good that we have different views. It sparks debate. And, discourse makes us human. God intends for us to question, scrutinize, criticize, review, evaluate, and verify ‘new truths,’ empirically through Scripture and with each other and the other.

Laboring through the art and science of thinking – reasoning – makes us human, uniquely created in His image.
